National Night Out

Olde City Park
Celebrate National Night Out as a
community with hot dogs, soft drinks, a bounce house and music; then return
home, turn your porch light on and meet with your neighbors.

Saturday October 11th, 1:00 p.m.
– 4:00 p.m.
Olde City Park in Historic
Downtown Wylie.
Cooks will be ready to serve and
everyone is the judge! Between 1:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 11,
2008 get a sample of some of the best
chili in Wylie, Texas! Determine your favorite and vote by placing a donation in the box of your
favorite chili. Votes will be tallied at 4:00 p.m. and the cook with the most
donations wins!
We are honored to announce that a special judge will be attending the event: the
City’s own Mayor Eric Hogue as well as other city officials.
Olde City park is located between Ballard Street and Jackson, the entry point to
downtown Wylie. We will be in the large pavilion next to the playground.

25, 2008 from 6:30 p.m. - 10:30 p.m
It is time to Cowboy Up again in
Wylie, Texas as the Wylie Championship Rodeo comes to town. The16th Annual Wylie
Championship Rodeo to be held at the rodeo arena in Wylie, located adjacent to
the Birmingham Agricultural facility. We will be putting on a two-night
Professional Rodeo, complete with bull riding, barrel racing, bronc busting,
calf roping and many other events that will bring the excitement of professional
rodeo to Wylie. There will also be a special box for donations of items for our
troops serving overseas.
Tickets:
Adults -$10 per night
Children (12 & under) & Seniors- $5 for per night
Children 3 & Under FREE
Family Pack* - $25 per night

Downtown Trick or Treat
Thursday, October 30, 2008, 6:00 pm – 8:00
pm.

Merchants Association
The Downtown Trick or Treat and
Family Festival is a safe trick or treat alternative for Wylie families as they
can walk through downtown and receive candy and treats from local merchants. The
downtown streets are transformed into a Halloween Wonderland featuring trick or
treating, live music, and carnival games. The event is free and is the Downtown
Merchants way of saying “thank-you” for your support and patronage throughout
the year.
The Promise of Wylie is insuring that
tomorrow is a brighter and better day for Wylie; and that we have planned and prepared for
a successful and productive future for all our citizens.
